Kirstan, who is a registered Educational Psychologist, has a master’s degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (B.A. Vega, B.A. Wits, B.A. Hons (Psych) Wits, M.Ed (Educational Psychology) Wits) and is registered with both the Health Professions Council of South Africa (PS0116734) and BHF (0444 952).
As an Educational Psychologist, Kirstan not only works with the emotional difficulties of children, adolescents, adults and families, but is also equipped to assist with challenges related to education and learning.
Thus, her skills include, but are not limited to, Psychotherapy (including play therapy (ages 3 to 12), filial therapy (birth onwards), adolescent psychotherapy, adult individual psychotherapy, parental counselling and psychoeducation, relationship counselling, family therapy, parent-child counselling as well as support groups) and Assessment (including, emotional, school readiness, psychoeducational, cognitive/IQ and IEB/GDE concessions).
Kirstan is contracted to most medical aids and is able to claim back directly from them. Additionally, her fees are within medical aid rates.
In addition to seeing clients at her private practice, Kirstan is also able to conduct virtual sessions online using platforms such as Skype and video call.
